The transportation department of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board is responsible for organizing the bus schedule for Franklin Hill.

In late August, parents will be able to access their child’s transportation information (24/7) by clicking on the “Back to School” button on the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board website (www.swlauriersb.qc.ca).

Transportation is provided to students, within their school zone, who are eligible and require bus service on a full-time, regular basis.

A student is eligible if he/she resides more than 800 meters from the school, and is in 4-year-old Pre-K or Kindergarten. For grades one to six, they must reside 1.6 km from the school.

All parents will be able to access their child’s transportation information with just a few clicks. The information will be available on the school board’s website at www.swlauriersb.qc.ca through the ’’Transportation and Back to School’’ icon.

A parent (or designated adult) of 4-year-old Pre-K and Kindergarten students must accompany his/her child to and from the bus. 4-year-old Pre-K and Kindergarten children will be returned to school if a recognized adult is not there to pick them up in the afternoon.

All students are expected to behave properly on the bus,and stay seated while the bus is moving. Students are expected to speak at an appropriate level, and to listen to the instructions of the driver.

If a student chooses to disregard the rules of the bus driver, the student will be suspended from the bus for a duration.  Parents will be responsible for bringing the student to and from school.

Consequences for misbehaviour on the bus are given by the bus driver and administered by the school.  Consequences for misbehaviour on the bus will lead to discipline on the bus and may include; changing of seats, warning tickets and/or suspension of bus travel privileges.

Please remember that riding the bus is a privilege, which can be revoked for individual students in order to ensure the safety of all students.

NO BUS CHANGES.  Parents must make arrangements at their own discretion once the child arrives at home.

Bus safety

The administration of Franklin Hill fully supports the safety and security of all students riding these buses. On the advice of the bus driver the school will not hesitate to follow up on any disciplinary issues that have arisen. Students are warned about the consequences of disturbing others, bullying, and violence.

Note that the school has no control over the routes or possible delays. Parents should contact the transportation department directly for any questions or concerns regarding the bus.
